Commercial Law League of America (CLLA)
The Commercial Collection Agency Association (CCAA), of the CLLA, has over 110 member agencies, representing the most prestigious commercial collection agencies in the United States . The CCAA www.ccaacollect.com, also referred to as the Association, works to elevate the standards of the commercial collections industry by providing educational, legislative, promotional and administrative services to its members.
Turnaround Management Association (TMA)
The Turnaround Management Association is the only international non-profit association dedicated to corporate renewal and turnaround management. With international headquarters in Chicago, TMA has 7,100 members in 36 regional chapters who constitute a professional community of turnaround practitioners, attorneys, accountants, investors, lenders, venture capitalists, appraisers, liquidators, executive recruiters and consultants.
ACA International (ACA)
The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals, is a knowledge-based resource for the credit and collection industry. With more than 5,500 members worldwide, the ACA establishes ethical standards and articulates the value of the industry to outside parties.
Certifications
SAS 70 Certified
Burt & Associates is Type II, SAS 70 certified and fulfills Section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley, the corporate governance accounting mandate. SAS 70 is designated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an acceptable method for management to obtain assertions about service organization internal controls without conducting separate assessments. As a result, the SAS 70 is a preferred method of providing assurance for service organization clients subject to Section 404 and can still be used for other audit-related purposes. Type II, SAS 70 certification is comprehensive and thorough and covers every internal control needed for full certification.
